The John Dewey Academy
College Placement

The process of college application is unique at the John Dewey Academy.

Thomas Bratter is the college advisor for all seniors. He accompanies each senior on all college interviews and writes all college letters (with rare exceptions). Because of his passionate commitment to each student, his refusal to compromise his integrity, and his proven track record in placing students who succeed in college, Dr. Bratter is able to convince a college of quality to admit students. Graduation from a competitive college not only permanently seals a painful past, but also maximizes future educational, social, professional, and personal potential.

The John Dewey Academy takes pride not only in the reputations of the colleges which admit our graduates, but also in our graduates performances at those colleges. Approximately 75% of our graduates complete college, and a third make the Dean's List (denoted by *).
